Trip to Morocco: New Year´s Eve in the desert of Morocco 8 days

If you do not know what to do on New Years Eve, we offer you the opportunity to start the new year in a special way: under the stars of the Moroccan desert. Enjoy a wonderful trip to Morocco and enjoy a New Year full of sensations. The trip is completely flexible, duration, departure place, etc can be adapted as you prefer. Day 1: Airport - Marrakech

Pick up at Marrakech airport and transfer to the riad in the medina. Free afternoon to have a first sight to the red city, specially to enjoy the magic spectacle of Jemma el Fna square.

Day 2: Marrakech - Ouarzate - Skoura - Dades Gorges

Breakfast and departure to the south across the high Atlas Mountains through the 2,260 m altitude mountain pass Tizin Tichka. Optional visit to a small Argan oil Women Cooperative, were you can learn how this precious oil is obtained and processed to get a wide range of culinary and cosmetic products. Arrival to Ouarzazate and panoramic view of Taourirt Kasbah. Continue passing through the big Skoura palm groove, were you can walk among the palm trees and old kasbahs or visit the ancient Kasbah of Amerdil. Drive through the beautiful Valley of the Roses until the stunning Dades Gorges. Dinner and night in a beautiful hotel in Dades.

Day 3: Dades Gorges - Todra Gorges - Erfoud - Merzouga

After breakfast we address to the desert of Merzouga. Visit Todra Gorges, free time to walk among the high mountain walls and arrival to Erfoud, city of fossils, where you can see the quarries from which are extracted and then worked to give them the most varied forms and uses. Then pass through Rissani and finally arrival at Merzouga, the high dunes of Erg Chebbi. Free afternoon to climb the dunes and enjoy a beautiful sunset. After dinner in a hotel opposite the dunes, you can enjoy, if you will, of a berber drums show.

Day 4: Merzouga - Khamlia - erg Chebbi - Rissani - Erg Chebbi desert (Merzouga)

After breakfast visit Khamlia, the "blacks" town, so called because its inhabitants are descendants of the ancient slave trade coming from Sudan. They're excellent musicians and have made this art their way of life. We will enjoy a short concert of Gnawa music while relaxing having tea. Back to the 4x4 to go to one of the tracks used in the "Paris-Dakar Rally," visiting khol mines and the remains of a French and Berber village. Panoramic stop to admire the Erg Chebbi desert sand in its whole. Desert nomads in sedentary process visit with which we can have tea and learn about their way of life. After passing through the Hassi Labiad Oasis, we will go to Rissani, first imperial city, to walk through his great African market where nomads and people come from nearby villages to sell their goods and buy all they need. There you can enjoy, if you fell like, the tasty Berber pizza, made with natural ingredients from the market (only found here). And after lunch return to the hotel to rest and prepare to move into the desert. We will leave in the hotel everything you do not need and we will ride on camels to immers in the wilderness as we admire the beautiful sunset that offers spectacular colors on the sand. Tonight will be special, because we stay in a camp haimas. Dinner and a beautiful starry sky. Night in haima.

Day 5: Merzouga - Draa Valley - Ouarzazate

You can wake up before dawn to watch the sunrise from a high dune. Back to the hotel again by dromedary to have breakfast and a shower if you feel like and rest a little. Continue the route through the Draa Valley, the longest river of Morocco, stopping to admire the fabulous geological forms and palm groves. Arrival to Ouarzazate.

Day 6: Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech

After breakfast, you can visit Taourirt Kasbah or if you like cinema, visit the Holliwood Studios were many famous films have been shooted. Back to Marrakech again through the High Atlas mountains. But before, visit Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, declared World Heritage by UNESCO, free time to walk and climb to the top to enjoy the magnificent views that Ounila Valley offers. Again cross the High Atlas Mountains with its beautiful mountain scenery. Arrive and transfer to Marrakech riad so that you have free time to rest and continue discovering Marrakech. Night in riad.

Day 7: Marrakech

Breakfast and free day to explore Marrakech, a city famous for its Jemaa el Fna Square, which will occupy much of your time: an unrepeatable amalgam of smells, sounds and sensations. The city also has plenty of places to wander and enjoy: Majorelle and Menara Gardens, the Saadian Tombs, walks in the Medina or the Mellah (the old Jewish quarter), the tour of the walls and the modern city (Gueliz) with Western lifestyles. Accommodation in Riad near the Jemaa el Fna Square so that so you can easily walk around the medina.

Day 8: Marrakech - Airport

Breakfast and transfer to airport flight schedule as back and end of our services.
